Love Actually

LOVE: this plain looking four letter word has the world go around in circles and somehow nobody can figure out why? and how? Every single person has his own philosophy and beliefs about love. While for some it spells commitment, affection and caring ; for some others , well just sex.

Time and again I keep coming across people who are heart broken. The person they supposedly ‘love’ has either dumped them or treats them bad or takes them for granted (how we all have been there at some point of time or the other). Somehow in the end, LOVE HURTS. This is something that has got me confused since day one.

It seems to be like a viscious cycle. Boy meets girl. They fall in love. There is too much time spent at lovers point (India is probably the only nation where every city has one). Too much cuddling. And then BAMMM. It hits them. The girl realizes the guy has been lying to her. The guy feels that the girl cannot understand him. They both cannot stand each other’s friends. The girl counts the number of things she sacrificed for him and the guy thinks of all the time he called her up. Basically each one thinks of themselves as a great lover who gave up everything and did not get anything.

Finally break up. Try to pretend you don’t miss the other even while you soak your bedsheets in tears at night. Make an attempt to look happy when in reality you feel like butchering up half the human population. Self pity always makes you feel a bit better.

Not to mention all the Yash Chopra songs and other sad romantic numbers

Just about how many times are these events going to happen in everybody’s life? Aphrodite has got to get more creative. That’s it I have a strict resolve no more love that hurts. the next time I am in love it better be something that makes me happy. Life has to be blissful when in love. You need not be in a relationship which stops your growth as an individual. I have no intentions of being a part of a great love story ( they all end in the lover’s death).

If it hurts, it isn’t love. Move on.!!!!
